A movie based on the FOX show, which ended in May after eight seasons, was in the works at 20th Century Fox. But Howard Gordon, who executive produced the series, now says that the studio has thrown out a script written by "State of Play" and "Shattered Glass" scribe Billy Ray.
"Lost" ended for good on May 23, and the series finale of "24" followed the next night. "Monk" solved his last case back in December.
Eight seasons in, "24" was 86'd. But cast and crew were still counting their blessings at the drama series' finale party.

The drama "24" won't be ticking much longer on TV. Fox announced Friday that its action-packed real-time show starring Kiefer Sutherland as anti-terrorism agent Jack Bauer will wind down at the end of its current eighth season on May 24.

Multiple sources are reporting that anonymous parties in the know at Fox have decided not to renew 24 for a ninth day and that an official announcement could come any day now.
The clock will start ticking again for "24" when Kiefer (KEE'-fur) Sutherland returns to the set Monday after surgery that shut down filming of the Fox network thriller for two weeks.
